Gematria Calculator

Type any word, name, or phrase to see its numeric value under the Kabbalah's 22 sacred numbers (the same Brotherhood of Light correspondences used across this platform), Pythagorean numerology, and the six standard gematria ciphers used by traditional gematria calculators. This is a calculator, not a reading: no AI, no quantum draw, nothing saved, free for every member regardless of tier. Words in other languages and alphabets should be typed in their closest English-letter spelling — these systems are keyed to the Latin alphabet, not native scripts, so a direct non-Latin letter can't be scored here.

Pythagoras: "All Things Are Number"

Long before gematria and Kabbalah reached Europe, the Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras of Samos (c. 570–495 BCE) taught that number was not merely a tool for counting but the fundamental substance of reality itself — the hidden order beneath music, the movements of the planets, and the structure of the soul. His followers, the Pythagoreans, held numbers as sacred and divine: each one carried its own essence and governed a different aspect of existence, from the unity of the number 1 (the Monad, the source of all things) to the perfect harmony of 10 (the Tetractys, a triangular arrangement of the first four numbers that the Pythagoreans considered the holiest of symbols and swore their oaths upon).

Pythagoras is credited with discovering that musical intervals correspond to simple whole-number ratios — that a string divided exactly in half produces a note one octave higher, and that a 2:3 ratio produces a perfect fifth. To him, this was proof that the cosmos itself was built on numerical proportion: he spoke of the "music of the spheres," the idea that the planets, in their orbits, produced a literal harmony governed by the same mathematical ratios found in music. This conviction that numbers underlie and animate everything in the universe — that to know the number of a thing is to know something true about its nature — is the philosophical root the calculator above draws from when it reduces a name or word down to a single divine digit.
